Written Warranties for GuitarsNEW GUITARS(Off-The-Peg and Hand-Built Instruments) Most manufacturers supply a written warranty with their products (though not all). Some builders supply a lifetime warranty for the first (original) owner. Some small-scale builders of hand-build guitars don’t supply a written warranty. However, at Art Music we supply a five-year written warranty (for those new instruments are not already covered by the manufacturers’ own warranty) and a three-year written warranty for used instruments. We are able to do this because of the high quality of construction of all the guitars we offer for sale. In the very unlikely event that any significant defects emerge after purchase, we will undertake either to have the guitar repaired or to replace it (free of charge). AS-NEW GUITARSWe offer a three-year written warranty with all As-New guitars. In the unlikely event of any significant problems, we undertake either to have the guitar repaired, or to replace it (free of charge) with similar. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF WARRANTYAccidental Damage Since all the guitars we offer for sale come with a hard case, the guitar should be well protected when not in use. However, accidents can happen and we advise the purchaser to get insurance (either household insurance or through the Musicians’ Union for gigging artists) against theft or accidental damage, since accidents are not covered by any warranty from any supplier or retail outlet – and that includes us! Damage Due to Heat or Liquid Theses warranties do not include any damage sustained (after purchase) due to the guitar being exposed to excessive heat, or to flooding or spillage of liquid. Guitars, like pianos, should not be left next to an open fire, stove, or radiator, nor left in direct sunlight, especially behind glass (such as in a car or van on a sunny day), nor should they be left for long periods in a shed or loft where temperatures and/or humidity levels are likely to fluctuate wildly. This applies even if they are inside their case. This principle applies to all stringed instruments, such as harps,
violins, etc. – and to other instruments made of wood (oboes,
clarinets, basoons, etc). The onus is upon the purchaser to care
for their instrument! |
