Classical and Flamenco Guitars

All of our classical and flamenco guitars feature solid wood tops (soundboards) and all but the least expensive have solid wood back and sides.

Classical guitars usually have back and sides made of mahogany, walnut, rosewood or maple and have a body depth of around four inches. The choice of woods and construction produce a rich variety of rich tonal characteristics. Whilst classical guitars are built for the player of classical music, many contemporary guitarists and singer/songwriters are finding the beautiful tonal qualities excellent for stage and studio use.

Flamenco guitars usually have back and sides made of cyprus and a body depth of around 3 inches. The characteristics of Flamenco guitars are that they have a percussive and brilliant tone that is obviously suited to Flamenco music. Many contemporary guitarists are however finding that these are very versatile instruments suited to any style of music.
