Baritone Acoustic Guitars

Art Music have commissioned the building of Baritone Acoustic and Baritone Classical guitars by various luthiers who have a reputation for excellence. We have done so because many of these instruments are not available in Europe (including Britain) – indeed, the Baritone Classical is not currently available anywhere in the world except through commissioning such instruments to be built specifically. We are confident that classical baritones will find favour with guitarists of all types.

Baritone guitars are normally tuned a fourth below standard tuning (BEADF#B) and have a scale length of between 27” (68.5cm) and 29” (74cm). Pat Methany, Bob Brosman and Gordon Giltrap play Baritone acoustics regularly on stage, and following Methanys’ evocative and haunting album ‘One Quiet Night’ there has been consistant interest and demand from inspired guitarists to buy their own Baritone acoustic. Methany even tunes the 6th string of his Baritone down to A – and it still sounds gorgeous.
